Rowner Bowling Club is re-opening Saturday 11th July at 11 a.m. Please follow all of the new Procedures and Protocols (see tab).
Don't turn up to bowl unless you have made a booking.
The Bowling Club was formed by a group of enthusiasts in 1970. The club affiliated to the Portsmouth and District Bowling Association in 1971 and have hosted many representative matches for the district. The club`s badge depicts Fort Rowner, one of the `Palmerston Follies`, with Royal Air Force wings representing the time when the area was an RAF airfield. In the foreground is a Viking galleon representing the arrival of the Bishop of Winchester in AD1140 to Gosport (`Gods Port`).
The club has very full bowling season starting in April and finishing in September. We compete in the Portsmouth & District leagues and the Gosport & Fareham Leagues. We also have numerous in-house competitions.
Outside of the bowling season the club runs many social events including games nights, quiz nights, crib league, rummy cup league and line dancing.
You can be sure of a warm welcome at Rowner Bowling Club. Our members are a friendly bunch and we have a cosy bar with drinks at very good prices.
